Memories
> The only currency that was ever worth anything.
Memories are OB's in-game currency. Players can trade their memories for skill boosts or mementos (physical items). It comes at a cost though, as the more important the memory, the more it is worth. Once you trade a memory, your recall of that moment will be hazy and dim. If you traded it for a memento, that memory will still be able to be easily recalled, as long as you're holding the item. Lose the memento, well, you lose that memory forever.
Earning memories
Any interaction or product pertaining to your character can earn a memory. You can think of it quite literally. Would your character remember this moment? Be it an answer to a prompt, a roleplay, or art- if it is important, then you can earn memories. Then you simply submit it to the "memory bank" in the discord to be officially awarded. (DA uploading is optional! Admins will not do any currency distribution outside of the discord. )

Admins will not be doing the book-keeping and billing for your characters. You are responsible for the upkeep and documentation of your character's memories. We will preform occasional reviews and audits of the memory bank, so we will catch you if you're making fraudulent memories!
Writing
-
a piece of literature must be at least 500 words to qualify for a memory. Crucial memories must be at least 1000 words.
-
a poem (or another specific writing form) must adhere to its specific requirements and memories will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
-
a roleplay must include 3 posts from each participant to qualify for a memory. Crucial memories must include at least 6 posts from each participant.
-
memories created through group-wide documents will be awarded case-by-case at the end of the event. (typically, of every five posts, you get a memory- unless something pivotal or crucial happens to your character).
Art
-
a piece of art must have thought and time invested in order to qualify for a memory. This is ambiguous for a reason- abstract and experimental pieces are highly encouraged, and may not always include things like shading or full-body characters. With that being said- just quick sketches or doodles may not qualify for a memory.
-
Crucial memories, typically, will have a complete background and pertain to one or more characters.
-
All art is awarded memories on a case-by-case basis due to the looseness and fluidity of our art requirements!
Trading memories
Paul has always had a nice little shop. Or maybe it's opening one soon?
Titles
Alongside memories, characters can earn titles. Titles are like badges or trophies awarded for achievements. Certain decisions will also lead to a new title. Titles cannot be duplicated or traded, but they can be gifted. (i.e. Paul has innumeral titles, one of which is "the Storyweaver".)
